PROJECT OVERVIEW
Unity in Diversity is a project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society (TTRCS). The initiative focuses on advocacy, direct migrant support, and organizational capacity building to improve the lives of migrants across Trinidad and Tobago.
Using a tiered, annual approach, the project addresses critical areas such as healthcare, education, and the rights of migrants in detention. Key strategies include mobile clinics, healthcare training, education access research, policy engagement, and advocacy for detention reform.
The project also empowers local civil society organizations (CSOs) through training in governance, financial accountability, and grant writing. A mentorship program and sub-granting mechanism will support CSOs in launching their own migrant-focused initiatives—ensuring lasting impact through community-based collaboration.
Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive support system for all.
HEALTH CLINICS
Over the past two months, the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society has successfully conducted three health clinics in Port of Spain, Sangre Grande, and Arima, under the Unity in Diversity project. These clinics were made possible through strong partnerships with NGOs, nonprofits, and community organizations, allowing us to reach a wide cross-section of individuals—particularly within the migrant population. These clinics mark just the beginning, as we have many more planned in the coming months to continue expanding access to essential, community-based healthcare for those who need it most.
