CRITERIA
-
Membership in the TTRCS is open to individuals who are 18 years old and above. This ensures that all members are legally considered adults, capable of assuming responsibility and making decisions in alignment with the organization’s goals.
-
Prospective members must be residents of Trinidad and Tobago. This ensures that members are familiar with the local context and can participate in local events and initiatives.
-
While professional experience is not always a requirement for membership, individuals with expertise in fields such as healthcare, law, business, education, or social services are encouraged to apply. The TTRCS values individuals who bring their professional skills to support the organization’s mission.
-
Applicants must possess at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Advanced degrees such as a Master’s or Doctorate will be considered an asset. This educational foundation ensures that members are well-prepared to understand and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s operations and initiatives. In addition to formal qualifications, applicants with substantial hands-on experience in relevant fields—such as healthcare, emergency response, community service, project management, or nonprofit administration—are strongly encouraged to apply. Whether through academic achievement or practical expertise, candidates should demonstrate a strong capacity to support and advance our mission.
-
To maintain the integrity and safety of the organization, all prospective members will be required to provide a police certificate or undergo a background check. This ensures the protection of vulnerable populations, especially in youth or humanitarian programs.
-
Membership requires a commitment to the mission, values, and objectives of the TTRCS. Prospective members must demonstrate a genuine passion for service, and humanitarian work, and a willingness to uphold the Red Cross's seven fundamental principles, including impartiality, neutrality, independence, humanity, voluntary service, and unity.
