A Message to All Stakeholders of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society
We’ve extended our Membership Drive
Join us in shaping the future of the Red Cross Society
The Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society (TTRCS) extends heartfelt thanks to all members and supporters who have taken the time, thus far, to regularise their membership during our current Membership Drive. Your response demonstrates the strong commitment and passion that exists within our Red Cross family, and we are truly encouraged by your continued belief in our mission.
In response to numerous requests and the overwhelming interest expressed, we are pleased to announce that the deadline for the Membership Drive has been extended to July 9th, 2025. This extension provides those who are eager to participate in our upcoming National Elections in August with the opportunity to complete the process and be fully eligible to vote or offer themselves for service.
We take this opportunity to remind all members that you must be financially active to vote or to be nominated for any position. This is your moment to get involved and play a direct role in shaping the future of our Society.
Since the last election held in 2018, the Executive Committee has been focused on addressing the operational and governance challenges that it inherited. This has propelled the TTRCS on a journey of institutional growth and modernisation, expanding its national footprint, diversifying its programmes, and deepening its community engagement. This transformation has yielded several key achievements, including:
• The establishment of the Humanitarian Academy for Training and Research
• Securing another European Union Grant to advance the human rights of migrants
• Development and implementation of the Community Resilience Group Model
• Establishment of Trailblazers and a strong youth programme that solidifies our commitment to creating meaningful pathways for youth development
• Extensive digitalisation of operations to enhance efficiency and responsiveness
• Diversification of income streams and the launch of Red Korner Cuisine
These efforts are a testament to our commitment to remain a responsive, transparent, and people-centred organisation. They are rooted in our commitment to strong governance, sound policy, and best practice. In the face of internal and external challenges, the TTRCS has remained resilient, responding with renewed strength and determination.
We encourage all members to be part of the elections in August, not just to vote, but to learn more about the incredible work being done, reconnect with fellow members, and help chart the way forward.
Together, let’s continue to build a stronger, more inclusive Red Cross Society, one that stands ready to serve with compassion, commitment, and courage.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you soon
